Spanish Woman by Ana Cuba/Salva Lopez

Іспанки багато страждали протягом останнього тисячоліття. Страждають вони і досі, як і більшість жінок у світі. Але ми зробили акцент саме на цьому болі, бо, як нам здалося, мусили так вчинити. Ми продемонстрували це шрамами на їхніх животах (від величезного шраму жінки до зовсім невеликого на тілі дівчинки), які вони без жодного сорому показали. Понад те, не так давно материнство було чи не єдиним сенсом їхнього існування. Воно також зображено шрамами двох найстарших жінок. Кожна фотографія живота супроводжується трьома портретами жінок відповідного покоління, в яких ми намагалися відобразити їхні емоції і погляд. Можливо, тут надто багато інформації про життя іспанської жінки. Проте поза фізичними характеристиками іспанок ми понад усе хотіли розповісти їхню історію.

Spanish women have suffered a lot during the last century, and they still do. (like most of the women on this world). But we focused our work on this pain because we thought we own this to them, and we have represented this with the scars on their bellies (from the huge scar of the older women to the little one of the younger), that they show without any shame. Moreover, motherhood was almost their only reason to exist not so many years ago, and, of course, that motherhood is also represented by the scars of the two oldest women. Each picture of the belly is accompanied with three portraits of that generation. The portraits are taken in the intimacy of these women; we looked for their emotions, their look. Maybe we do not give too much information about how's the life of a Spanish woman, but, beyond the physical characteristics of Spanish women, we really wanted to tell their story above all...
