Румунка – це біль. Вона страждає від свого віку, вимушеної еміграції своїх дітей та світу, якого не розуміє. Румунські жінки – це також і молодь, яка відкрита для майбутнього. Вона хоче жити і сміятися. Румунку можна порівняти з її Батьківщиною. У неї багато облич - сумні, зморшкуваті, втомлені, щасливі, усміхнені. Румунська жінка просто красива, як сама Румунія. Romanian woman is like pain. She is suffering because of her age, and because her children live in other countries, suffering from the world she does not understand. Romanian women are also like the youth. Youth is open to the future. So is Romanian woman. She wants to live, to laugh. Romanian woman is like Romania. She has many faces - sad, wrinkled, tired, happy, smiling. Romanian woman is just beautiful, like Romania itself.

Ці фото моєї сім’ї та друзів я зробила у 2009 році. Всі жінки – це саами, корінні жителі Скандинавії. Деякі з них живуть у традиційних сім’ях, що пасуть оленів. Інші – у мегаполісах. Думаю, мені не вдасться повною мірою зобразити національність, намагаючись описати її кількома словами. Проте я дуже пишаюся тим, що знаю цих сильних, відважних та гордих жінок саамі. These are my personal photos of family and friends taken during 2009. All women are swamis, the indigenous population of Scandinavia. Some of them come from the traditional reindeer herding-families, others live urban lives in big cities. I do not want to diminish a nationality by trying to describe it in few words, but I am very proud to know these strong, daring and proud swami women.

What interested me, it's to see these women in their intimacy, trying to reveal what can be secret at them. In my country, I think that the women have a lot of character, and possess many qualities. But what attracts me, it's this very sensitive, soft, mysterious side and at once strong. Then according to ages, certain wisdoms appear... These women of portraits moved me, I like I can go into their intimacy, and that they offer to me is what they don't show to the world. It's very important for me. This sensitive side, but also a side rises and indefensible which is very present at the woman's. Що мені справді було цікаво, так це побачити інтимність цих жінок, спробувати викрити, що може бути в них містичного. Думаю, жінки моєї країни мають сильний характер та багато позитивних якостей. Найбільше приваблює їхня дуже чуттєва, м’яка, містична і водночас сильна сторона. Пізніше з’являється певна життєва мудрість. Ці жінки на фотороботах зачепили мене за живе, адже я мала можливість роздивитися їх зблизька. Вони відкрили мені те, що ховають від всього світу. Це надзвичайно важливо для мене.

Argentinean Woman by Julia Feldman

Роблю знімки для того, щоб наблизитися до людей. Я не вирізняюся красномовністю, але, на щастя, у фотографії відкрила для себе місток, який з’єднує мене з іншими людьми. Хотіла б, щоб мої фотографії передавали цей зв’язок – щось дуже особисте та близьке. Для цього проекту я фотографувала близьких мені осіб: подруг різного віку, маму, маленьку племінницю та жінку, яка доглядала за мною та моїм братом, коли ми були малими. Всі ці жінки мають особливе значення у моєму житті. Вони навчили мене найважливішому – малювати, робити речі своїми руками, завжди бути собою, радіти, цінувати дрібниці. І хоча ці жінки – дуже різні, всі вони є взірцем для мене. Тому я і вирішила їх зобразити візуально.

I take pictures so I can get close to the people. I am not very talkative person, but thanks to photography I have discovered a bridge which connects me with the others. This is why I want to see my photos expressing this connection, sometimes very personal and intimate, this truly "close" feeling. In my session for Woman photoproject I took pictures of women that are or has been very close to me: my friends of different ages, my mother, my little cousin and the woman who was babysitting me and my brother when we were little. All this women are special for me, they taught me the most important things in my life – to draw, to make things by myself, always be who I am, feel good and appreciate the little things. And even though all these women are very different, they are a role model to me, and that's why I choose to take their pictures.

During Жінка Woman 3000 Tour the discussion "Woman in modern society: Looking for ways of self-realization" was organized in 5 cities. Each city gathered the journalists, representatives of women organization in Ukraine, opinion leaders and other society members to talk on the different aspects of gender issues in the country. Discussion, press conference and film presentation was the part of official opening Жінка Woman 3000.
